With jewellery as a medium I visualize and communicate ideas and stories. Displayed on the body, it is strongly connected to its wearer. Adornment can be an expression of all kinds, an indicator of status, wealth, personal identity, sign value or belonging to a particular group. A piece of contemporary jewellery exposed and transported into public, is able to create response, thus it can generate a debate.
Once educated in the traditional field of a goldsmith’s craftsmanship I like to resist narrow, historical conventions by confronting people with my radical view to challenge the perception of commercialized jewellery which follows mostly luxurious none identity values and meaningless aesthetics. With my work I reflect and comment on sociocritical themes concerning our western consumer culture, discourse of values and future. Materials are selected according to the meaning of a particular theme or concept. The artistic work is developed and executed with highly experimental approach. My vision is to accomplish a change in the development and especially the meaning of jewellery and contribute to innovation and culture.
